River Yare Boat Hire
The River Yare forms part of the Norfolk Broads from Norwich through to Breydon Water lake, near Great Yarmouth, where it merges with other rivers before flowing into the North Sea. This river was once an important busy commercial waterway.
The 27 mile route from Norwich to Breydon Water passes the villages of Thorpe, Bramerton, Surlingham, Brundall, Rockland St. Mary, Cantley, Reedham and Berney Arms.
Look out for the Hardley Cross near Reedham, which was erected in 1676 to mark the boundaries of Norwich and Great Yarmouth. Also the unusual marshaland settlement at Berney Arms and the thatched riverside houses.
The nearest train stations to the River Yare are located at Norwich, Brundall and Reedham.
There is a boat yard on the River Yare located at Brundall. View the boats available for hire from Brundall.
